I am a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Monterey who lives in Santa Cruz, California. Or at least I used to be. I quit my job when I was offered the opportunity to come volunteer for a year with a non-profit organization focusing on the needs of AIDS orphans in South Africa and Zambia. I arrived in Pretoria, South Africa on April 7, 2010. That year stretched into two and now South Africa has become my permanent home. In August 2012, I started my own nonprofit, PLAY - Purpose Leadership Adventure for Youth to empower the youth of South Africa. Stay tuned to follow the progress as I struggle to turn this vision into reality...
